THE HAVENING TECHNIQUES
What Are The Havening Techniques?
Created by Medical Doctor and Neuroscientist, Dr Ronald Ruden, in collaboration with his brother Dr Steven Ruden, The Havening Techniques® (also known as ‘Havening’ ) opens up the field of Psycho-sensory Therapy for mental health conditions such as PTSD, panic attacks, traumas, compulsions, fears and so much more. The Havening Techniques® can be used in many ways but it is particularly effective at clearing encoded traumas, fears, anxieties and compulsions. It is also an effective way of promoting well-being, resilience, personal enhancement, peak performance and reducing stress.
How Does Havening Work?
The key to The Havening Techniques® is the Havening Touch®, which is a firm, slow movement on specifically researched areas across your arms, palms and face. This generates Delta waves and causes a powerful change in brain chemistry believed to de-link or detach the emotion from the memory, craving or distressing thought. It appears to be a very simple process, but years of research show how this process has the ability to make a powerful biological change in the brain, while you remain in a ‘safe-haven’ throughout. It is incredibly comfortable, therapeutic and naturally relaxing.
Why See A Certified Havening Techniques® Practitioner?
As a Certified Havening Techniques® Practitioner, I am skilled at working with clients at an experienced level to find the core elements of where the stress/trauma lies. Like any form of therapy when working with significant traumas, there is a requirement for a gentle and staged approach as different aspects and components present themselves at different times. There are occasions where during the process itself, it provides an outlet for repressed emotions leading to quite significant responses. Yet in skilled hands, this is a highly productive part of the healing process and by the end of the session, will have been released and permanently cleared the emotional charge associated with any encoded traumatic memories.

Havening has significant empirical evidence to show that it successfully works on trauma, such as phobias, traumatic memories, experiences and events through to PTSD. However, Havening is not just for trauma and negative past experiences; it is proving highly effective in aiding resilience and wellbeing, leading to a balanced, calm and resourceful state of mind, self-confidence and peak performance. It is often used in conjunction with other fields of therapy for a comprehensive and successful approach.
